Okay, here's the pattern as I knitted it.
I used YarnBee Snowflake Yarn, its weight is 3
size 5 DPN's
Cable needle (whatever works for you)
Notes:
C6F: Place 3 stitches onto cable needle and hold to front of work, knit 3 stitches from left needle, work 3 stitches from holder
Cast on 52 stitches, I used the long tail method, whichever cast on you use though, you'll want it to be a bit stretchy.
Divide your COstitches between 3 dpn's and join without twisting stitches, to work in the round.
Rounds 1-5: K1,P1 rib around
Rounds 6&7: *K5,P1,K6,P1*, repeat from * to * around
Round 8: *K5,P1,C6F,P1*, repeat from * to * around
Round 9-14: As round 6
Round 15: *K2,KFB,K2,P1,C6F,P1* repeat from *to* around (56st)
Rounds 16-20: *K6,P1,K6,P1*, repeat from *to* around
Round 21: *K3,M1,K3,P1,C6F,P1*, repeat from *to* around (60st)
Round 22: K4,P1,K6,P1,K4, bind off (loosely in pattern) 14stitches, K4,P1,K6,P1,K4, bind off (loosely in pattern) 14 stitches; two sets of 16 (32) stitches remain across from each other.
Handle:
The stitches that have no working yarn attached to them can be placed on a stitch holder or extra needle for use later.
Working with the stitches that have the working yarn still attached work in pattern as follows.
Row 1: K4,P1,K6,P1,K4
Row 2: P4,K1,P6,K1,P4
Row 3: K4,P1,K6,P1,K4
Row 4: P4,K1,P6,K1,P4
Row 5: K4,P1,C6F,P1,K4
Repeat this pattern until handle measures approx 9 inches or desired length, ending with row 5.
Place the other set of live stitches on an extra needle if they are on a holder and using both sets of stitches do a 3 needle bind off to connect both sides of the handle.
Enjoy.
I'm a knitter & a coffee junkie and I've gotta make this!!! :-) Thnx
ReplyDeleteHope you have fun with it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cabling on this sling! It saves people from having to learn how to do Fair Isle for Knitty's "Slingshot": http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTslingshot.html
